Safeguarding of Children and Young People Policy

TMAEG does not include children under the age of 16 in its conservation projects; those of 16 and 17 years can be involved with the written permission of a parent or guardian. For social occasions, such as the Annual General Meeting, Open Gardens, talks and guided walks, children accompanied by a responsible adult member are permitted. In practice there have been no instances of under-18 involvement apart from a very small number at social events.

This policy applies to everyone involved in the delivery of projects and services for TMAEG.

Implementation of safeguarding policy is the responsibility of all committee members and volunteers.

TMAEG has a zero-tolerance of abuse of children and young people wherever it occurs or whoever is responsible.

This policy has been approved by the TMAEG committee and signed by its Chairman on 25th June 2021, and endorsed by Resolution  at the Annual General Meeting of TMAEG on 25th September 2021.
